Message From The Head Teacher

I am very pleased to introduce this Website about The Grove School to you. The purpose of this website is to give you a general picture of life at the school and also provide more detailed information about specific areas.

The Grove is a large and successful school of approximately 1100 students, 80 teachers and 75 ancillary staff. Although we are a large school we seek to create an atmosphere in which young people feel safe, secure and valued as individuals. We are able to offer a superb range of opportunities and facilities. We believe the combination of care, opportunity and challenge ensures that children thrive and can reach their highest levels of achievement.

We are enormously proud of our academic record, our House System, our involvement with the community and the successes of our pupils past and present in all sorts of areas. Young people join us as children: they leave, in many cases after seven years of education, as young adults. Only parents have a greater influence on a young person’s development than ourselves. We never lose sight of that. From that comes our commitment to make sure that we offer the very best to you and your child.

I hope you enjoy reading this Website and find it useful. It can, however, only give a very partial picture. The best way to gain a real insight into the school is to visit during a normal school day. I would encourage you to do that. Please feel free to contact the school to arrange a visit.
